Portraits to be...
subheading in here?
We all know life in Washington, DC moves fast. Juggling work, car pools, activities, and pets fill your days with fun and maybe a tiny bit of chaos. At the center of it is your family – the people who make it all worthwhile.
Your children become the focus. You celebrate their first smile, their first steps, their first missing tooth. These days don’t last forever. In what feels like a heartbeat, they’re grown and off on their own. That’s why I believe young children should be photographed every year. Portraits help you press pause so you can remember these tiny moments after they have quietly slipped away.

Portraits to be...
subheading in here?
Every few years, bring everyone together for family portraits. A family session captures more than faces – it captures love, relationships, and the beautiful, imperfect story of your life together.
One day in the distant future, all the emotions of the time will come rushing back when you look at your portraits. The joy. The laughter. The way your child’s hand fit perfectly into yours.
Family portraits are your family’s story, preserved forever.

""Lisa was a consummate professional from the very first phone call. I had reached out to a number of photographers and I felt very comfortable working with her. As part of her preparation, she was able to find the prop that I needed for the shoot. She came to my home to see the framed portrait of my son that I wanted to recreate for my grandson. She took measurements and reached out to her framer to find the right frame and setting. On the day of the portrait, she was very patient with my grandson and spent about an hour to capture the perfect shot. We are very pleased with the end product. Lisa came to our home to deliver the portrait in less than two weeks, well ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend Lisa and look forward to working with her for my next grandchild. Thank you Lisa!""

Frequently asked questions
Here are some answers to common questions I'm asked. I hope you find this helpful, but if you still have a question, please do get in touch.
Still have a question? Get in touchWe want to book a session – what should we do now?
Yay! Book a call using the button below, call me directly using the link in the footer, fill out my contact form here, or email me directly using the link in the footer below. Whatever you do, know that I’m very happy to get to know you and answer all of your questions.
How long does it take to get my finished product order?
Orders typically take 4-6 weeks to deliver as all images are hand retouched before they are printed, wall art is custom printed and framed, and albums and portrait boxes are handcrafted in Italy.
What’s the COVID info?
Yes, we STILL have to talk about this. Everyone in my house has been been fully vaccinated and boosted and I request that you have been as well. I have a COVID waiver I ask you to sign to protect your interests as well as my own. Before starting in-hospital newborn photography, I had to prove immunity to measles, mumps, chickenpox, and rubella, pass a criminal background check and a drug test, and have an annual TB test, flu shot, and a periodic Tdap vaccine. After all of that, what if I get a cold? I will reschedule your session and I appreciate you doing the same.
Do you provide digital files?
I provide a digital file meant for sharing on social media or with relatives and friends for every image you purchase as a printed product. These files are also suitable for digital frames.
What if I love all my images?
That’s my goal, of course. But you need to leave room on your walls for future portraits as your children grow and change. Most people create albums of the images they can’t walk away from. Or they collect images in a Portrait box, which holds 20 matted images that you can add to over time and doubles as a rotating portrait frame. Just change the portrait in the window whenever you are in the mood for something different.
What happens after the session?
A week or two after the session, you have your Selection Appointment where you see your images and my suggestions for the products we discussed during your Design Consultation. We’ll go through your images and select your favorites. Go with your emotions – choose the images you react most strongly to. If you are getting wall art, we look at different sizes and frame treatments until you are happy. If you chose an album, I have it pre-designed for you to look at and modify to get it just the way you want it. At this point, we finalize your order. Full payment is due at this appointment and must be received before I place your order.
How long does a session last?
Generally, sessions last up to 60 minutes. Sessions of individual children are usually shorter because the kids get tired quickly. Location sessions tend to last a little longer. In either case, if everyone is having tons of fun, we capture the funny in-between moments as well.
Do you help us plan for our session?
Absolutely! I run a full-service boutique photo studio and guide you through the entire experience. I come to your home for a full Design Consultation to discuss who we are photographing, the style that best fits your family and your home, and where your images will live – on your walls or in a custom-designed album or portrait box. During your Design Consultation, we select a date for your session. Before I leave, I take photos of your walls so I can show you mock-ups of your images during your Selection appointment. The mock-ups help you choose the appropriate size and placement. Of course we also talk about what everyone should wear for the session.
What days and times do you shoot?
I shoot any day by appointment. Studio sessions are typically scheduled at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm. Location sessions are scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon as dictated by the sun and the season. I offer location sessions in April, May, and into June in the spring and in September & October in the fall. Location sessions require scheduling an alternate date in case of bad weather.
Where will we shoot?
Studio sessions are done in my home studio. I am adjacent to Glover Archbold Park, which has many beautiful spots for outdoor sessions, when then weather permits. The Georgetown University campus is within walking distance. If you are interested in an outdoor session, we will discuss locations in our initial phone call, and we will have to schedule a rain date as well.
Where are you located?
My studio is located in historic Foxhall Village , the charming Tudor neighborhood nestled between Georgetown and The Palisades and near the French and German Embassies. I have a beautiful Golden Retriever and a very sweet cat who will not be joining our session.
